My Fro & I 2014

Big things poppin'.

And just like that, it's a new year. Firstly, Happy New Year! Alas, 2013 is gone and with it comes a new start and...hair goals!!

Mine? Healthy (and hopefully longer) hair. I've got quite a bit to to do for this, and I know it's going to have to be a long work in progress but I'm determined. Last year I took the plunge and had a second chop and who knows, maybe I'll have a third once this year. The point is, there's no point holding onto unhealthy hair, no matter how much longer it makes your hair seem. I'm actually very keen on cutting a lot of my hair routine out or at least minimise it. Since mid last year I just haven't had the time or the patience to continue on with the routine I'd set out for myself. And when it comes to products? I'm starting from scratch again. I'm also keen on going back to basics and using what used to work for me before. I became such a product whore I lost my way with products and forgot about many of the old faithfuls (products and practices) that helped me get to my hair length a year and a half down the line. I'm currently rocking a protective style that I installed just before I left for the holidays. I'm thinking this kind of thing will be what I'm going to do for the majority of this year.

And with that, I thought I'd whet your appetite with a couple photos from home:

Yet another weave and braids combo. I love this style so much I have yet to remove the extensions. More on that to come. Watch this space...

And you? What are your hair goals for this year?

  1. hey my gosh u have such a beautiful hair I absolutely love it..

my dear I need your advice ive always had long and beautiful strong hair like my entire life so but last year in November I decided to go for a big chop..I didn't cut off my hair completely but I felt it was way to short to walk around with it so I kept on wearing a lace wig.

im now in Month 2 after transtioning and I must say im very comfortable with my natural look so I decided not to wear the lace anylonger my hair is slowly growing but can't help but envy my long relaxed hair. .so now a friend of mine has recommended an SCURL and im still contemplating as I feel that that this will delay my goal of achieve a beautiful Afro like yours lol:-) so will u please advise me in this regard. .

look my hair is still very short but when I make those roubd circles witj the palm of my hand you can definitely see some strong small locks..so its not all bad but then I don't wanna make it curly and have regrets later. .

    thanks
