1. Know that it happens to everyone
2. It's quite likely no one will even notice you're having a bad one until you announce it
3. There are ways to conceal the evidence
And with bad hair days happening to me at least once a week, I've had to quickly figure out who were my friends. Here are my top bad fro day saviours:
It's quick, it's easy, it's warm and if you live in a place that has seasons, chances are you already have one... or two... or three. But really, you only need one (or two... or three...). One that'll go with pretty much everything you wear. Cold and raining outside? Slap on your beanie. Twist out didn't come out right? Beanie! Running late? BEANIE! And your fro can either completely hide or still make a cameo appearance.
I ♥ my beanies...
*S. Africa readers: you can grab a nice chunky beanie from Woolies, Mr. Price, Cotton On, shops in town...pretty much anywhere!
Sometimes a bad hair day is just a nicer way to say "I'm too lazy to figure out what to do with this damn hair of mine". It happens. And when that does, in comes your pretty and feminine friend, the scarf to save the day. It's cute, it's versatile, doesn't break the bank and even elevates the elegance factor. DING DING DING, JACKPOT! *whisper* no one will know ;)
*S. Africa readers: Mr. Price has some fab and affordable scarves and Woolies have a great silk selection too.
The Pins & Clips Combo
You might not believe it, but this was the result of a bad hair day:
Oh yes it was. There I was almost at the end of my awesome new updo style when the main event (my banana clip) snapped in half. My hair had a massive tantrum, simply refused to fit in it and busted out. So, after quickly cursing my hair (I know I shouldn't have but that clip was brand new!) , I picked up the nearest, smaller clip and made a plan with my side combs and many, many bobby pins and voila! A new style was born - totally unplanned but loved all the same.
*S. Africa readers: Clicks and Pick n Pay are my shops of choice to get some simple and basic clips and pins ;)
Who knew that such small items can come to your rescue? So long bad hair day! Now get on with it and be fabulous!
