I have a quick tips guide that explains all the basics I think you need to surviving being natural. Please be sure to have a thorough read of it to know how to use the following tools: Tips to Surviving Being Natural
+ Shampoo (if you use a lot of products such as gel)
+ Conditioner - can use in placement of shampoo. AKA 'co-washing'
+ Deep conditioner - use faithfully after every wash to restore moisture
Some friends or readers of mine complain that their hair hurts
when they comb it. When I 'predict' they use a fine tooth comb (and using it on bone dry hair), most of
them say a confident yes. If you still have a fine tooth comb... Chuck. It. Away. It is not your friend.
It breaks your hair and thus prevents your hair from retaining length.
If you want the 'neat afro' look, you can still achieve this with combs
with wider teeth. They allow our curly strands to pass through them
easier than the fine tooth ones do.
There you have it. The absolute basic tools to take care of your precious new baby fro ;)
